Rev. Richard S. DenUyl, Jr.
The Federated Church welcomes Rev. Richard S. DenUyl, Jr., as our new Settled Pastor. Richard was born in Arizona, and grew up in Michigan. He earned his BA from Hope College in Michigan and Masters of Divinity at McCormick Seminary in Chicago. After Seminary, Richard worked for three years as a psychological crisis counselor in the New Haven, CT area. During this time, he was a weekend youth Minister at West Hampton Presbyterian Church, NY. His first full time ministry began as an Interim Associate Minister in Weston, CT, before being called to be the Minister of the United Congregational Church of Little Compton, RI, where he served for 20 years. In 2014, Richard became the Senior Minister at the First Congregational Church of Greenwich, CT.
Richard met his wife Barbara at Hope College. She attended medical school at Northwestern University while he was in Seminary, and then did her pediatric residency at Yale. Richard and Barbara have a daughter Sophia, who just began her first year of law school at Georgetown University. Pictured at left: wife Barbara, daughter Sophia, and Richard S. DenUyl, Jr.
