OUR MINISTRIES & MISSIONS

Community Service & Missions

The Federated Church fully participates and generously supports a number of community service projects on the island including the Island Food Pantry, The CROP Walk, Hospice, and Cancer Support Group.  On winter Sundays we serve a free lasagna dinner to the community from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M.

The congregation takes part in Houses of Grace, an island-wide program to host the homeless every night during the winter. Dinner and breakfast are provided.

We also support the outreach of the American Baptist Churches, USA, and United Church of Christ, and mission projects in Haiti, Costa Rica and Ghana where church members are currently engaged in ministry.

Music

The Federated Church has an outstanding choir under the direction of Peter Boak. Choir rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings.  The choir sings throughout the year. All are welcome!

Discipleship Opportunities

During the school year, the children of the church leave worship after the Children's Message to attend Sunday School in the Parish House. We have a "one room" Sunday School for children in kindergarten through grade 6. Childcare is provided for younger children as requested.

Short-duration group discussions, Bible Studies, and other discipleship opportunities on various topics for adults are offered throughout the year.  Call the church office or email the pastor to learn what’s available or express your interest.

The Federated Church has a Safe Church Policy to protect children, teens, volunteers, and staff.

Healing Ministry & Prayer

Prayers for healing are offered following worship on the third Sunday of each month. The healing services are led by Susan Waldrop who is as an interfaith minister.

Weddings & Baptisms

Weddings and baptisms may be arranged by contacting the pastor by phone (508-627-4421) or contact us here
